Indecision

I think I should
And I would if I could
But I can't so I won't
But I should try
Because if I don't
I'll never know if I could have
Done what I should have
But didn't try
And therefore never could decide
Whether I chose correctly
In not doing what I didn't
Ultimately.

Note: I think a couple of lines in this poem might have grammatical errors, I'd be glad if you could point those out. Grammar's a slippery friend.

it will need a few more reads to figure this out. Reminds of me all those annoying long sentences that turn out to be tautologies when formally worked out.

[shivam] Will you have time for re-readings?

[grain saint] It was just a fun exercise, didn't mean much.

[aq couch] And you need less of it :). I wrote "I would if I could but I can't so I won't..."

Appears to me more like a piffle than a poem. However, I may be bad at understanding the underlying meaning of 'poetry'

"In indecision itself, grief is present."

(At the moment, cant recall who said it...perhaps Hazlitt).

[tapasya] Of course it is a silly fibble. I wrote it during a boring presentation. But it definitely is poetry.

[phoenix] I don't understand.

[siyaah] I think that's a broad and unreasonable generalization. As you can see, my indecision provided the impetus for this poem (or 'fibble', if you like) the writing of which gave me a lot of pleasure in otherwise excruciatingly boring circumstances.

should i comment
or should i not
does it matter
or does it not

typing without a thought
characterises an idiot
am i one, am i not?
it isn't a question
put up to you
those who can answer it
are few.

Yes it does (matter)

Moot?
